Membership requirments need:

Sponsors must be reviewers or approvers in at least one OWNERS file within one of the [Kubernetes GitHub organizations.

If not, @iomarsayed, will have to look for another sponsor

No @helayoty. It’s in place from more than a couple of years ago.
When you had sponsored folks before, you must have been part of a team (probably release team?) with your name in an OWNERS file.
I could have overlooked some place though, and I wanted to be sure, which is why I requested you to help out as well.

No, I wasn't in release team when I sponsored last couple of members. This is just weird for me and the first time to know about this role!

@helayoty, I did check and the only teams I found you in were part of the release team at the time. (you might not have bee part of the active release, but your name was in the OWNERS file)
methinks the reason I can’t find you in there now, is most probably because of this cleanup PR.

for now @iomarsayed will have to look for another sponsor.
